One thing Scotty can’t do is vanilla. The boring still life paintings with no edge, no boobies, and no cool. If there isn’t a little bit of boundary pushing, you won’t find Scotty’s name in the bottom corner.
SO the question becomes, how does Scotty paint for the more conservative collector? How does he paint vanilla with a little flair?
When life gives you vanilla ice cream, he makes a sundae.
Sometimes you can’t just have boobies out for all to see. If you have traditional in-laws, small grandkids, or that one neighbor who doesn’t mind his own business, Vanilla Sundaes are for you!
To the untrained eye, these paintings appear to be normal, classic pieces. A beautiful car, an expensive bottle of wine, maybe even a still life or two. But if you dive in and Look Closer, the whip cream, sprinkles, and chocolate sauce begins to appear. You may not see the girl in the painting right away, but take a closer look at that bumper, the reflection in the wine glass, or the darkest shadow. You will find her… because when Scotty picks up a brush, he doesn’t know how to paint vanilla.
“The perfect dessert.”
